Self Defense or Murder?

A few years ago, a man named Brian was doing exactly what you’re doing right now, reading about gun ownership.

Six months later he was forced to shoot a man in self-defense.  He was then taken to jail and charged with murder.

Brian’s True Story

Brian was surfing the internet and landed on a page dealing with gun ownership and self-defense.  After reading the entire page, Brian decided to invest in his own protection and that of his family.  In all honesty, he thought about just marking the page and returning to it later.  But he didn’t and decided right then and there to become a member.

Little did he know, in just 6 short months he’d be faced with the most challenging moment of his life.

He’d spent years learning and practicing the self-defensive use of firearms.  He had a concealed carry permit, and his own gun secured in his truck while helping a family member.

Police Report

……the attacker beat her up and lit her house on fire.  It was hard to read such evil.  Here’s what happened.

The next day, Brian went to help her gather some things from her burned house…the attacker returned to the scene of the crime.

With his daughter in the truck, Brian did exactly what USCCA training teaches members to do.  Despite Brian’s best attempts, the deranged attacker became more agitated and rushed toward Brian in attempts to enter the house.  Brian refused to let him in.  Brian kicked him in the chest, sending him backwards down the steps.  The attacker ran away, and Brian ran to his truck to call 911.  But Brian couldn’t complete the call, the attacker returned.  Brian knew his life and the lives of his loved ones were in danger.

Brian grabbed his legally concealed pistol and told the attacker to STOP!!  Despite that, and seeing Brian’s gun, the attacker rushed forward holding a metal pipe above his head, ready to swing.  Brian was forced to shoot in self-defense.  The attacker was less than 5 feet away when Brian fired.

Brian immediately called 911 and administered first aid.  After the ambulance and police arrived, he complied with every request.  As confusing and emotional the situation was, Brian remained calm.

The only way to be prepared for a situation like this is to take the time to think through it ahead of time.  That’s why the USCCA has critical training on the topic.

Charged with Murder??

It didn’t take long for Brian to realize something was wrong.  Despite his story, which was collaborated by the family member and no evidence to support anything but the story, Brian was charged with first- degree murder.  They locked him up.

Brian was a patriotic American who used his gun for the right reason, he was trained and ready, he did everything by the book.  Yet here he was, locked up with real criminals for a crime he didn’t commit!!

At this desperate moment Brian remembered his USCCA membership.  He was able to get a message to his parents and his mom called the 24/7 Delta Defense Critical Response Team.  That phone call changed everything.

The Delta Defense Critical Response Team immediately contacted a qualified attorney from the USCCA Attorney Network who drove straight to the jail.  He launched his own investigation, connecting all the dots the detectives missed, and worked diligently to get his innocent USCCA member out of jail, home to his loved ones, and cleared of all charges.

This took a lot of time and money and a toll on Brian’s family.  But ending up with $68,500 of attorney’s fees being dropped.

USCCA Membership

Members have access to vital resources to help fund defense expenses, after all, who has that kind of money just laying around?

USCCA members immediately get self-defense liability insurance as an automatic membership benefit.

There are three levels of membership, one for every budget.  The higher the level the access to various training libraries increases.  Julianne and I are members and highly recommend USCCA to anybody who carries and is serious about protecting yourself and your loved ones during these dangerous times.
